Market Action — Most Actives

About Most Actives:Most Actives is a performance-based screening tool that lets you isolate the securities that have recorded the highest trading volume during the most recent trading day, or during the last week, month or year to date. You can isolate securities that meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • are listed on a particular exchange
  • are in a particular industry
  • trade above a minimum market price

Exchange:Select "All" from the pulldown menu to search all publicly traded companies listed on all exchanges in the menu. Choosing a particular exchange or group of exchanges restricts the search to companies listed on the selected exchange(s).

Industry:Select "All" from the pulldown menu to search all publicly traded companies in our database. Choosing a particular industry restricts the search to companies in the selected industry.

Price greater than ($): Select a minimum dollar amount from the pulldown menu. Selecting $10.00, for instance, restricts your search results to stocks that are currently trading at or above a price of $10.

During the trading day (Weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST), prices are delayed 15 minutes. Data for weekly, monthly and year-to-date gainers, losers, most actives and 52-week highs and lows are based on the latest available closing prices, which are updated after 7:30 p.m. EST each trading day. All prices are adjusted for stock splits.

Change - Net:The actual price increase or decrease experienced by the security or index during the specified time period. During the trading day, one-day figures are based on intraday prices; after the trading day, one-day figures are based on the most recent closing price. Data for weekly, monthly and Year-to-Date net change is based on the latest available closing price.

Change - %:The percentage price gain or loss experienced by the security or index during the specified time period. During the trading day, one-day figures are based on intraday prices; after the trading day, one-day figures are based on the most recent closing price. Data for weekly, monthly and Year-to-Date net change is based on the latest available closing price.

Company:Click on the company's name (when underlined) to view its corporate snapshot. These snapshots provide a brief description of the company's area(s) of concentration, its main sources of revenue, its annual financials, contact information, industry competitors and key corporate personnel.

Latest Price:Intraday prices are delayed 15 minutes.

Most Actives:The security that has recorded the highest percentage price increase for each time period.

Most Actives (latest day):The securities that have recorded the highest trading activity for the day. During the trading day, one-day figures are based on volume; after the trading day, one-day figures are based on the latest available closing volume.

Most Actives for Month:The securities that have recorded the highest trading activity during the last 30 calendar days. Monthly figures are based on the latest available closing volume.

Most Actives for Week:The securities that have recorded the highest trading activity during the last seven calendar days. Weekly figures are based on the latest available closing volume.

Most Actives for YTD:The securities that have recorded the highest trading activity since the last trading day of the previous year. Year-to-date figures are based on the latest available closing volume.

Refresh:Click the Refresh button on the page during and up to half-an-hour after the end of the trading day to run your search again and refresh the page with the latest available information. Clicking your browser's Refresh or Reload button will NOT re-run the search with the latest available information.

Symbol:Click a security symbol to view the latest available quote along with a six-day performance table and company news. Click on an index symbol to view the latest quote for the index, and the gainers, losers and most active securities traded on that index during the current or latest trading day.

Volume:The number of shares of security that were traded on a particular stock exchange during a specified time period.
