Canadians get higher severance pay: study

As the prospect of cost cuts and layoffs loom at many corporations, a global survey Wednesday showed Canadian employees get more severance pay per year of service than their counterparts in the U.S. and elsewhere. Indeed, laid-off Canadian employees earn more severance pay than their U.S. colleagues regardless of their level or tenure with the organization, according to consulting firm Right Management.
