RIM lowers guidance for third-quarter

WATERLOO, Ont. — Research In Motion Ltd. lowered its financial guidance for its third-quarter on Tuesday, saying it has added fewer new subscribers than expected as the economy slowed. The maker of the BlackBerry smartphone, which keeps its books in U.S. dollars, said that it expects third-quarter adjusted earnings between 81 cents and 83 cents U.S. per diluted share for the three months ended Nov. 29.
