Pay tied to performance dwindles
More Canadian workers are receiving health care and retirement benefits, though fewer workplaces appear to be offering pay that's tied to performance, a government report said Wednesday.
Statistics Canada's findings, based on a study between 1999 and 2005, show performance-related pay declined. In 2005, almost 37 per cent of workplaces offered some type of performance-related pay to staff, down from 40.1 per cent in 1999.
