Canada adds 15,000 jobs in August
OTTAWA The U.S. unemployment rate has risen to match Canadian levels for the first time in more than 26 years, another sign that the U.S. housing collapse is having a far less severe effect in Canada than south of the border.
The American unemployment rate rose sharply to 6.1 per cent in August – the same as Canada – after employers shed 84,000 jobs.
