EnCana, RIM drive TSX to record
The S&P/TSX composite index surged to an all-time high Monday as good news in the energy and technology sectors finally eclipsed the market losses of the past eight gloomy months.
The index moved past its previous closing high of 14,625.76, set last July, ending the day up 1 per cent at 14,666.07.
The positive tone was a far cry from the almost panicked feeling in January and February, when the index fell almost to the 12,000 mark.
