Ont. ski resort lays off 1,300 workers
COLLINGWOOD, Ont. — Spring-like weather in January has dealt a crushing blow to this central Ontario community.
Blue Mountain Resorts has laid off about 1,300 of its seasonal and part-time employees.
Company spokeswoman Kelly O'Neil said Friday managers and supervisors decided "seasonal and part-time staff would be laid off for at least a three-week duration until we can get operations back up and running.
