Quebecor to slash costs at Sun Media
Quebecor Inc. made deep cuts to its newspaper operations Tuesday, eliminating jobs and centralizing newsroom operations in a bid to slash costs at its struggling Sun Media Corp. chain.
Officials with Montreal-based Quebecor said the company is eliminating 120 jobs across five Sun newspapers and the London Free Press. Those cuts, which affect its operations outside of Quebec, represent roughly 10 per cent of its overall editorial staff.
