Toronto stocks rise as energy shares surge

20/05/08

TORONTO (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index shrugged off earlier losses on Tuesday to climb further over the 15,000 mark, as record oil prices spurred energy shares higher.

The S&P/TSX composite index <.GSPTSE> was up 101.15 points, or 0.7 percent, at 15,085.35 by early afternoon.
