Zscaler cloud can now connect to Check Point Security Gateways

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Zscaler, Inc., the market leader in cloud-delivered multi-tenant Security as a Service (SaaS), today announced that its SaaS security service has achieved OPSEC(TM) (Open Platform for Security) certification from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. Through OPSEC certification, Zscaler seamlessly interoperates with Check Point's market-leading Security Gateway R70 and NGX R65 software.

"Leveraging a firewall is a great way to forward web traffic to Zscaler's cloud-based security services. It eliminates the need to deploy an additional appliance or connector to forward the traffic," said Jim Scott, security analyst at Hinda Incentives, a Zscaler customer. "Zscaler's service is so effective that our users' virus infections have dropped to nearly zero reducing our IT administration for remediation significantly."

This certification validates that the Zscaler web security service can now seamlessly connect to Check Point Security Gateway, adding an external layer of protection. As a service Zscaler truly is a low cost alternative to legacy third party plug-ins which can be a performance drain as well as time consuming to maintain.

"Check Point is pleased to welcome Zscaler as a partner in our OPSEC program," said Bill Bailey, vice president of corporate and business development at Check Point. "Businesses across the globe rely on Check Point Security Gateways to protect their networks from the latest threats, and Zscaler's OPSEC certification provides joint customers greater accessibility to security data for more timely responses."

Through partnerships and programs like OPSEC, Zscaler continues to set new benchmarks in security. Solutions, such as the interoperability of Zscaler with Check Point Security Gateways, benefit the partners and customers alike.
