Health Policy Expert and Beltway Veteran Dolly Judge to Lead Healthcare Team
NEW YORK, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Hill & Knowlton has hired Dolly A. Judge as senior vice president and director of healthcare policy. Judge was most recently at Pfizer where she spent ten years in the DC office as the vice president, federal government relations and managed relationships with administration offices and members of Congress on key committees with jurisdiction over critical issues in health policy, Medicare and emerging science.
Judge will serve as the senior leader of the DC healthcare practice. She will draw on her broad expertise to serve a growing roster of healthcare clients and lead a strong team of healthcare communications and public affairs professionals. "With more than two decades of experience at the highest levels of healthcare lobbying, coalition-building and policy advocacy in Washington, Dolly has the knowledge, the insights and entrepreneurial spirit to further strengthen our presence inside the Beltway and service to clients from around the globe," said Michael Kehs, general manager of Hill & Knowlton's DC office.
Judge brings deep experience negotiating and working with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and with research, as she handled all FDA-related issues including the Prescription Drug User Fee Act III (PDUFA), direct-to-consumer (DTC), advertising, Rx to over-the-counter (OTC) switches, clinical trials and pediatric exclusivity as well as emerging science issues, genomics, stem cell research and bioethics while at Pfizer. Judge is also an expert on Medicare-related issues, including the Medicare Modernization Act, the prescription drug benefit, payment issues for Part B drugs and evidence-based medicine/cost-effectiveness.
Judge worked at Hoffmann-LaRoche where she was vice president, federal government affairs, as well as with Abbott where she served as director of federal health policy. She also brings significant trade association experience, having worked in government affairs for both the American College of Physicians and the Health Industry Manufacturers Association (HIMA).
"While there is much talk about 'getting healthcare done' this year, the reality is that healthcare policy will continue to evolve for years to come," Judge noted. "I joined Hill & Knowlton because the firm is committed to helping clients navigate the current reform movement and advocate for appropriate corrections to any unanticipated consequences that may arise."
