WaferGen to Present at the 8th Annual Bio Investor Forum 2009

FREMONT, Calif., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- WaferGen Biosystems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: WGBS), a leading developer of state-of- the-art genetic analysis research tools, today announced that Mr. Alnoor Shivji, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will deliver a corporate presentation at the Bio Investor Forum 2009. The conference will be held October 28 - 29, 2009, at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

Mr. Shivji's presentation will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday October 29 in Twin Peak North conference room. The presentation will include an overview of the company's SmartChip system, which has been used successfully at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center (UPMC). As a result of the positive data, WaferGen has initiated multiple collaborations with academic research centers in the US, Europe and Japan.
