Akerman's Jill Riola Achieves Florida Bar Board Certification in Intellectual Property Law

ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Akerman Senterfitt Shareholder Jill Sarnoff Riola has received Board Certification in Intellectual Property Law from The Florida Bar. In 2007, the Florida Supreme Court officially recognized intellectual property law as one of only 22 board certification areas available in Florida. Board Certification is the highest level of recognition by The Florida Bar of competency and experience, and identifies Ms. Riola as having special knowledge, skills and proficiency in Intellectual Property law, distinguishing her as a specialist in this practice area.

Ms. Riola leads the Intellectual Property practice for the north Florida offices of Akerman Senterfitt, operating out of the firm's Orlando office. An intellectual property litigator for many years, Ms. Riola now concentrates her practice on corporate and transactional intellectual property matters, including domestic and international trademark and copyright selection, prosecution, protection, licensing, and enforcement; complex intellectual property transfer transactions, such as acquisition, licensing, development, manufacturing, and distribution agreements; advertising and promotions.

An experienced intellectual property litigation mediator, Ms. Riola sits on the panel of mediators for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) esteemed Panel of Neutrals. She has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the International Trademark Association, and the Executive Committee of the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of California.
