Credit card perks putting the squeeze on retailers

A battle for share in the credit card market among Canada's major banks has consumers increasingly switching cards to get in on better points programs or lower rates. But as the perks get richer, the banks are passing on costs to retailers, which are now facing higher charges on so-called premium credit cards they fear will soon flood the market.
