President Obama announced that the U.S. would house this Summit on Entrepreneurship during his speech in Cairo in June 2009. Deputy Secretary Hightower will discuss the nomination process for delegates focused on entrepreneurship in countries across North Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia as well as in Muslim communities elsewhere. They will be invited to Washington next year to highlight the successes, challenges, and opportunities for entrepreneurship development - partnerships that can benefit both the United States and Muslim communities around the world. The Commerce Department's Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship is now accepting nominations until the end of November. Delegate invitations will be issued on January 2010.
