International Development Days (IDD) and Canadian Awards for International Cooperation to be held in Fredericton, N.B., May 22-24

FREDERICTON, NB, May 8 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada's premier international cooperation and development conference, International Development Days (IDD) will be held in Fredericton, N.B., May 22-24 in conjunction with New Brunswick Manufacturing Days 2007.

Organized by Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), the three-day event will feature the annual Canadian Awards for International Cooperation as well as presenting opportunities for investing and working in developing countries. In addition there will be sessions, among others, on the future direction of Canada's Official Development Assistance Program; building international partnerships; IFI procurement for Canadian manufacturers; and, the new reality of global business.

International Development Days is a program of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

"Doing business internationally today is a fact of life whether you are large or small," says Deborah Turnbull, CME Vice-President of International Trade and Development. "The competition is no longer just across the street and to survive in today's global economy means finding new markets, making technological improvements and being quicker on your feet. International Development Days will guide you through the process of tapping into export, investment, manufacturing and consulting opportunities around the world."

of Zambia;

Frans Lammersen. Principal Administrator, Poverty & Growth, Organization

Hon. Greg Byrne, Minister of Business; Government of New Brunswick;

Jean-Jacques Dethier, Development Economics, World Bank

International delegations from Bangladesh, Barbados, India; Kenya,

Philippines and Zambia will also be featured during the program.
