VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 8, 2007) - Blackstone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BLV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. David Douglas as Chief Financial Officer of the Company, effective immediately. Mr. Douglas is a Chartered Accountant with over twenty five years of experience in the accounting, corporate finance, and mining industries. Most recently, he served as Corporate Secretary to The Northair Group of public companies which included Stornoway Diamond Corporation and Sherwood Copper Corporation. Throughout his career he has participated in the sale or financing of over 30 private and public enterprises with a combined value of over $200 million. Mr. Douglas is a graduate of the Commerce Program (Finance) at the University of British Columbia and is a member of the British Columbia and Canadian Institutes of Chartered Accountants.
In conjunction with his appointment Mr. Douglas has been granted five year 150,000 common share purchase options with an exercise price of $0.70.
