Wells Fargo Team Members Donated a Record $41.9 Million to Nonprofits in Annual Community Support and United Way Campaign

SAN FRANCISCO (Business Wire) -- Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC) announced today that its team members pledged a record $41.9 million to more than 25,000 nonprofits and schools through its annual Community Support and United Way Campaign. This was a 21 percent increase over the combined Wells Fargo and Wachovia campaigns in 2008. It was also the Company's most “green” Campaign to date with nearly 100 percent of all pledges made online and the elimination of nearly all print marketing materials. Over 160,000 team members participated in the campaign in some way.

The annual Community Support Campaign runs each fall and allows team members to donate to any 501(c)(3) organizations of their choice. One hundred percent of team member donations go to the organizations they choose. Wells Fargo pays all processing costs and gifts to qualifying schools through the campaign are automatically matched up to $5,000 per team member.

During the campaign, thousands of team members volunteered alongside local nonprofits and also held special events to raise additional funds for nonprofits.
