Harman International Appoints Jennifer Peter as Chief Accounting Officer

WASHINGTON (Business Wire) -- Harman International Industries, Incorporated (NYSE:HAR) announced today that it has appointed Jennifer Peter as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, effective October 1, 2008. Peter has served most recently as Vice President, Finance and Administration for the company's JBL Professional unit.

Peter has more than 13 years of financial experience. She joined Harman International in 2003 as Assistant Controller, Americas and was promoted to Controller, Americas in 2005 where she had responsibility for financial review and monitoring of all North American operations. She also managed the Corporate Accounting department.

Prior to joining Harman, Peter worked in Disney's Corporate Transaction Support Group and KPMG's Audit Department where Harman was her primary client. She has both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
