MISSISSAUGA, June 27, 2012 /CNW/ - Early results are in! Of the first 100,000 Pepsi Ultimate Taste Challenges conducted across the country this summer, more Canadians prefer the taste of Pepsi! In celebration, Pepsi Canada has partnered with MR. SUB, a proud Canadian company with deep roots in Canada since 1968, to share in the excitement. This Canada Day, Pepsi Canada will be giving any Canadian who shows up at any of MR. SUB's 330 participating locations a free can of Pepsi, one per person, while supplies last.

In the spirit of the Pepsi Ultimate Taste Challenge and Canadians' preference for Pepsi*, MR. SUB has also demonstrated a preference for Pepsi by recently switching from serving Coke at their locations to serving Pepsi. For over 40 years, MR. SUB has delivered fresh quality submarine sandwiches in Canada with a focus on providing value for its customers.

Pepsi Canada first challenged consumers to take a blind taste test to reveal their cola preference in 1976. The campaign quickly became a success as the company uncovered that more Canadians preferred the taste of Pepsi, even if they identify themselves as regular Coca-Cola purchasers. Nine-million taste challenges later, the 2012 edition is called the Pepsi Ultimate Taste Challenge and boasts world-class innovation with new, cutting edge technology, and regional executions at more than 1,000 events coast-to-coast this summer.
