NEW YORK, Aug. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Digby Solomon, interim publisher of Hoy, today announced that veteran publishing executive Juan Arango has been appointed senior vice president and executive editor of Hoy nationally, effective immediately. Arango was previously the general manager of Hoy's Los Angeles edition and senior vice president/editorial operations.

Now, with our rapid growth, we need his expertise and focus to be solely on editorial operations," said Solomon. Arango served as general manager of Hoy's Los Angeles edition and senior vice president/editorial since January 2004. He joined Hoy in January 1999 as editor in chief and was later promoted to vice president of operations and general manager in 2000. Prior to coming to the United States, he was president and editor in chief for Travesia, a travel magazine, from 1994 to 1997. Before that he was a founding senior partner and creative director for Perfil Grafico Ltda., a graphic and editorial design studio in Bogota, Colombia. While at Perfil Grafico, he created several successful publications, including Revista Dinero, a business magazine in Colombia.
