Leitch's NewsNet(TM) Newsroom Solution Foundation of Bandeirantes de Televisao's System
TORONTO, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - Leitch Technology Corporation (TSX:LTV) today announced that it has been selected to provide a fully integrated NEXIO NewsNet(TM) newsroom solution to Rede Bandeirantes de Televisao, one of the leading broadcasters in Brazil, for use during its coverage of the 2004 Athens Summer Games in Athens, Greece. Upon conclusion of the Athens Games, the Leitch system will be installed in Bandeirantes de Televisao's network news operation to create the streamlined workflow of a fully Integrated Content Environment(TM).

The complete Leitch system that will form Bandeirantes de Televisao's news operation in Brazil will include seven NEXIO(TM) shared storage transmission servers with 28 channels; eight NewsFlash(TM) FX editing systems; NewsFlash Preditor(TM) low-resolution browse/edit solution; Ingest Control Manager(TM); Rundown Manager(TM); and InstantOnline(TM). The system will feature 1.4TB of storage in a mirrored configuration. The Brazil news facility will also feature Leitch's DPS-575 Digital Processing Synchronizer; 6800+ series modular interface conversion and distribution amplifier modules; and VelocityQ(TM) non-linear editing systems.
