'VH1 Divas Duets' Hosted by Queen Latifah and Featuring Sharon Osbourne, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown Helps 'Save Music' for the Sixth Year

LAS VEGAS, May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- "VH1 Divas Duets" brought down the house tonight with some of the biggest names in music to raise money for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music programs in America's public schools, and to raising awareness of the positive impact that music participation has on students.

Airing live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Thursday, May 22 at 9:00 pm (ET/PT), the sixth annual "VH1 Divas" extravaganza was hosted by Queen Latifah, and Sharon Osbourne was the announcer of the show, featuring an all-star Diva lineup of Chaka Khan, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Jewel, Lisa Marie Presley, Ashanti, Shania Twain, Pat Benatar, The Isley Brothers, Bobby Brown, and Stevie Wonder.

Continuing in the "Divas" tradition, "VH1 Divas Duets" brought together some of the biggest names in music today for an extraordinary night of show-stopping duets. The evening opened with Beyonce and Jewel on "Proud Mary." Next, Celine Dion whisked in for "Have You Ever Been In Love." Chaka Khan tore through "I Feel For You" and "I'm Every Woman" followed by Mary J. Blige who showed the audience some "Real Love," "Love No Limit", and that the show was one big "Family Affair." Ashanti and The Isley Brothers teamed up for a soulful duet on "Who's That Lady?" and Beyonce proved she was "Dangerously In Love" with her new solo single. Lisa Marie Presley turned the "Lights Out" and helped Pat Benatar rock through the classic "Heartbreaker."

Ashanti dazzled with her solo "Rock Wit U." Then Whitney and Bobby proved to be a powerful duo with "Something in Common" and "My Love." Jewel came back to show her "Intuition" and Mary J. Blige returned with Chaka Khan for "Sweet Thing." Sharon Osbourne announced Tarralyn Ramsey as the winner of VH1's competitive reality series "Born to Diva." The victorious Tarralyn Ramsey, sang "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." Whitney came back with another showstopper singing "Try It On My Own."

For the grand finale each diva took the stage with the legendary Stevie Wonder for a spectacular series of duets. Shania took on "Superstition." Whitney gave "I Was Made To Love Her;" Beyonce was "Signed, Sealed, Delivered;" Jewel rendered a sweet "You Are The Sunshine of My Life;" Mary J. Blige was a "Superwoman;" Ashanti continued with "Do I Do;" Chaka powered through the tune Stevie Wonder penned especially for her "Tell Me Something Good;" and finally Queen Latifah proved she was "Living For The City."

VH1's annual "Divas" specials raise funds for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. Through partnerships with affiliates and advocates, as well as corporate and national sponsors, VH1 Save The Music conducts awareness campaigns, musical instrument drives, and fundraising events in conjunction with public schools to help restore instrumental music programs. Since VH1 Save The Music was created in 1997, more than $25 million worth of musical instruments has been donated to 1000 public schools in 80 cities, improving the lives of more than 500,000 children.
