Magna now America's biggest parts supplier

Magna International Inc. is now the largest parts supplier in North America, according to an annual compilation by industry trade publication Automotive News. Magna's sales of $13.6-billion (U.S.) to auto makers in North America rank it ahead of Delphi Corp., which is operating in bankruptcy protection. Magna ranks third in global sales behind Denso Corp. of Japan and Robert Bosch GmbH of Germany. Several other Canadian companies made it on to the annual list of the top 150 parts suppliers in North America. Among them are publicly traded parts makers Martinrea International Inc., Linamar Corp. and Wescast Industries Inc. Privately held ABC Group, Woodbridge Group and A.G.S. Automotive Systems also made the list, which ranks companies by North American sales.
