Nortel sinks 21 per cent to penny stock on NYSE

TECHNOLOGY REPORTER

OTTAWA -- Nortel Networks Corp. shares fell by more than 21 per cent yesterday to land below $1 (U.S.) for the first time in almost 20 years, handing the former market heavyweight a new status -- at least temporarily -- as a penny stock.
