Valere Power President and CEO Addresses Chinese University on Powering Next-Generation Telecommunications Networks; Andy Marsh Makes Presentation at the Invitation of China Wuhan Putian Group

RICHARDSON, Texas (Business Wire) -- Valere Power today announced that its President and CEO, Andy Marsh, addressed an audience of Chinese telecommunications planners and students this week at Wuhan University of Technology at the invitation of China Wuhan Putian Group Corp., the company's new strategic partner in the country.

China's telecommunications infrastructure is expanding dramatically to keep up with the country's booming economy and increased demand for Internet access. Mr. Marsh's address focused on how entrepreneurship and technology innovation can help to build a reliable power infrastructure to support these growing networks.

"I am honored to have Mr. Marsh bring insights on the power industry and how to build reliable power infrastructure to support China's increasing needs," said Prof. Huazhong Xu, Dean of the School of Automation for Wuhan University of Technology. "Mr. Marsh's extensive industry background and Valere Power's technology leadership position provide a great learning opportunity for our faculty and students on the technology itself as well as how to build a successful technology company."

"The strategic partnership between Valere Power and Wuhan Putian builds a great foundation for both companies to work together closely on state-of-the-art power infrastructure solutions for Chinese telecommunications companies," said Aiming Yang, President and CEO of China Wuhan Putian Group Corp. "We are delighted and honored that Mr. Marsh was able to give us an educational speech that allows us to benefit from his knowledge and experience."

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Marsh expressed his appreciation for the invitation and added: "I am impressed with the knowledge of power technology and the quality of the students and faculty here at Wuhan University of Technology. Working closely with the academic community and talented local people is a key part of our strategy to further expand our business and increase customer satisfaction here in China."

Mr. Marsh's speech elaborated on advances in power conversion and battery technology and how these are enabling distributed power architectures for central office telecommunications networks. Using distributed power can dramatically lower the expense of central office power infrastructure and improve network reliability.

Valere's business activity in China is increasing dramatically through recent product manufacturing agreements and through the partnership with Wuhan Putian, who will integrate Valere's state-of-the-art rectifiers into its next-generation power systems for Chinese service providers. Beginning in early 2006, all Wuhan Putian systems will exclusively feature Valere Power rectifiers.
