The 2005 Jinshan Business Invitation Achievements Exhibition Held in Jinshan District

SHANGHAI, China, Oct. 14 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- The General Office of the People's Government of Jinshan announced today that the Jinshan government has launched the 2005 Jinshan Business Invitation Achievements Exhibition entitled "Jinshan Autumn," under the theme of "Wealthy Jinshan, Wise Jinshan, Green Jinshan," on October 12. During the exhibition, 16 project contracts were signed, totalling an investment of RMB8.18 billion, including 9 domestic and 7 foreign investment projects, with investment amounting to RMB3.1 billion and USD627 million respectively. Of them, a contract regarding auto accessories signed between Shanghai New Jinshan Industrial Investment Co., Ltd. and Jinshan Co., Ltd. of the Shanghai Industrial Zone Development Corporation reached USD400 million.
By the end of October 10, 2005, Jinshan had imported 149 domestic and foreign investment projects, with the total investment exceeding RMB19.3 billion (including 119 domestic and 30 foreign projects with investment amounting to RMB11.86 billion and USD920 million respectively), thus fulfilling the pre-set goal of attracting into the area investments worth RMB10 billion this year already. Of them, the investment of cooperation framework agreements totals RMB4.57 billion. The average investment of the 149 projects is RMB129.67 million, with that of domestic and foreign projects being RMB99.66 million and USD30.70 million respectively. The average investment intensity per mu (0.066 hectares) reached RMB2.28 million, with that of domestic and foreign projects being RMB1.82 million and USD469,600 respectively.
Hu Yanzhao, deputy mayor of Shanghai, was present at the exhibition and made an important speech.
The event was hosted by the Economic Commission of Shanghai, the Shanghai Foreign Economic Relations and Trade Committee and the Shanghai Jinshan District Government. During the exhibition, leaders, merchants and other participants also visited the district-planning showroom, the Jinshan Industrial Zone and the Xintianhong Golf Course.

Jinshan, one of the 19 districts (counties) of Shanghai, is located in the southwest of the city, north of the Hangzhou Bay and west of Zhejiang Province. It is situated at the hub of the economic region linking Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo, and is inside the geographic ring of the Yangtze River Delta that is only a two hours drive away.
