The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Mr. Marc Whittingham has been named President and CEO of the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC). The appointment was effective September 5, 2008. He will also serve on the Corporationís Board of Directors.
With a strong background in procurement and contracting, as well as corporate governance, Mr. Whittingham will guide CCC in executing the strategic direction of the Board and developing future growth and business opportunities for the Corporation.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Whittingham served as President and CEO on an interim basis, as well as Vice-President, Strategy and Organizational Development at CCC. His public service career includes senior executive positions at several federal departments including Public Safety Canada, Industry Canada, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the Privy Council Office, and the Department of National Defence.
Mr. Whittingham has also served in the Canadian Forces including in Her Majestyís Canadian Ships NIPIGON and IROQUOIS. He holds a M.A. in War Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada (2001), and a B.Admin. from the Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean (1976).
CCC is a Crown corporation, wholly owned by the Government of Canada. Its mandate is to assist in the development of trade, which it does by signing and managing over $1 billion in export contracts annually, and by providing services to Canadian exporters and foreign buyers.
