Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of Luc Vanneste to the position of Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. In his new position, Mr. Vanneste will be responsible for the Finance Department, including investor relations, taxation and strategic sourcing.

Mr. Vanneste joined Scotiabank in 1999 as Senior Vice-President and Chief Auditor, and was appointed Executive Vice-President in October 2003. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Vanneste spent 24 years with KPMG LLP, where he served as a partner, focusing on banking and finance. He has a B.A. (Honours) from the University of Toronto, and a Masters of Business Administration degree (with distinction) from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. Mr. Vanneste has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1977. He has served as Chairman of the Board of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, and is currently a member of the Foundation’s Audit Committee. He is also a member of the Advisory board of the Centre for Stroke Recovery.
