Darren Entwistle, President and CEO of TELUS Corporation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Hugues St-Pierre as President and Chief Executive Officer of The QuébecTel Group Inc., a TELUS company.
Hugues will be a member of TELUS's executive management team and, as such, will be responsible for contributing to the development and the implementation of TELUS's national strategy over the entire Province of Québec. Hugues and his team will target major business markets by offering integrated telecom solutions that fulfill customer demands.
Hugues began his professional career with the Royal Bank and then joined QuébecTel in 1975. Over the years, he assumed increasing responsibilities in various organizational units, including revenue planning, regulation, marketing, sales, operations and information systems. In June 1995, he was promoted to Vice President, Consumer and Business Solutions, and in February 1996 to Vice President, Administration, Finance and Treasurer. He assumed President and Chief Operating Officer duties on September 1, 1998.
Hugues received his bachelor degree in business administration from the "Université du Québec à Rimouski" in 1974. In the fall of 1998, he attended the Harvard School of Business, Advanced Management Program. Hugues is a member of the boards of directors of The QuébecTel Group Inc. and its subsidiaries. He is a member of the "cercle des chefs mailleurs du Québec Inc." and a director of the National Optics Institute.
