Paul Mirabelle, Executive Vice President, Business Transformation at TELUS Corporation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Pereira to the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Vice President (VP), Information Services. Peter will be responsible for providing leadership and vision in the planning, development and management of information services across TELUS. Peter will focus on providing customer facing business units with enhanced capabilities and efficiency in support of TELUS strategic imperatives. He will collaborate with colleagues on the Business Transformation Leadership Team and within TELUS Enterprise Solutions to deliver on a program of transformation activities.
Most recently, Peter held the position of CIO and VP, Information Technology at General Electric Capital Information Technology Solutions (GECITS). In this role, he was responsible for the "Global Center of Excellence" for application development and business support teams. He also developed the IT strategy and operational execution for the product business across North America. Other roles that Peter held at GECITS were: VP, North American SAP, Managing Director, Global E. Commerce and Distributions Systems, and Director, US and International Sales and Operations.
Prior to joining GECITS in 1996, Peter held senior leader-ship positions at SHL/MCI Systemhouse, DELL Computer Corporation and Glaxo Pharmaceuticals (in both Australia and Canada).
Peter holds a Master of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Loyola Autonomous College.
