Paul W. Mitchell,
The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) is pleased to announce its 2003 President, Paul W. Mitchell, OAA, MRAIC. Mr. Mitchell has served on OAA Council since 1998, most recently as Senior Vice President and Treasurer (2002) and Vice President Statutory Activities (2001). Mr. Mitchell is a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
In 2002 Mr. Mitchell was instrumental in representing OAA Council in the establishment of Pro-Demnity Insurance Company, providing professional liability insurance to architects. During his time on Council, Mr. Mitchell has chaired the Regulatory Affairs Committee and the Discipline Committee.
In his community of North Bay, Mr. Mitchell has been a Director on several boards including the North Bay Downtown Improvement Area, and North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Mitchell is a President and Principal Architect of Mitchell Associates Architect Inc. He received his Bachelor of Architecture with high distinction from Carleton University, and was awarded the prestigious OAA Raymore Medal for the highest score in the Architect Registration Examinations.
The Ontario Association of Architects is a self-regulating, self-governing profession under the Architects Act. The association governs its members and regulates the practice of architecture in Ontario in order that the public interest may be served and protected.
