Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Meek to the position of Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Dominican Republic.
Mr. Meek joined Scotiabank in Cornwall, Ontario, in 1966 and has held various senior management positions in Human Resources and International Banking. Most recently, he was Senior Vice-President, International Banking, with responsibility for Scotiabank operations in 10 Caribbean and Central America countries and Peru. He received a Master of Science Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Mr. Meek holds Directorships with several of Scotiabank´s subsidiaries and affiliates including Scotiabank de Costa Rica, Scotiabank El Salvador, BNS (Bahamas) Ltd., Banco Sud Americano Peru, Scotiabank Jamaica Ltd., Scotiabank de Puerto Rico and Scotiabank Belize. He has served as Director of the Optimist Club in Ajax, Ontario, was involved in fundraising activities for the Rouge Valley Health System, and was the Chairman of the Alliance for a Drug Free Canada from 1994 to 1997.
