BMO Capital Markets is pleased to announce the appointment of Ashi Mathur as Head, Canadian Real Estate, which includes coverage of investment and corporate banking as well as property brokerage.

Mr. Mathur joined BMO Capital Markets in 2001, and has been the lead advisor to a number of the firm's senior client relationships across diverse industries with respect to mergers & acquisitions, recapitalizations and both debt and equity financings. In 2008, he played an integral role in the opening of BMO's first investment banking office in India. In the same year, he was appointed co-head of the BMO Capital Markets Media & Communications practice, and then head of that group in 2010.

Mr. Mathur serves as a Foundation Trustee for The George Hull Centre for Children, and is on the Advisory Council for the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Waterloo.

Mr. Mathur holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Masters degree from the University of Waterloo, and is a Chartered Accountant.
