Hubert T. Lacroix, President and CEO of CBC/Radio-Canada, is pleased to announce the appointment of Katya Laviolette to the position of Vice-President, People and Culture. Ms. Laviolette will have overall responsibility for providing strategic direction and leadership on the development and implementation of all human resources practices and programs at CBC/Radio-Canada.
Ms. Laviolette is a seasoned human resources executive who has led both national and international human resources teams in large-scale growth initiatives and major transitions. She will play a key role in supporting the company’s strategy with a continued focus on talent management and the development of a high performance culture.
Prior to her nomination, Ms. Laviolette held senior human resources positions with Rio Tinto Alcan, Transcontinental Inc., Bombardier, and CN.
Ms. Laviolette holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and a Master’s of Industrial Relations from Queen’s University. She is also a member of the l’Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés.
