Dominic D’Alessandro, President and CEO, is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Haggis to Executive Vice President, Business Development and Chief Credit Officer. Mr. Haggis will be responsible for the execution of Manulife's corporate strategic planning, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. He will also oversee Manulife’s Reinsurance Division, as well as the Human Resources, Corporate Communications, and Legal functions.

Prior to joining Manulife, Mr. Haggis spent five years as President and CEO of Alberta Treasury Branches (ATB), where he led ATB to record profitability and market share growth and oversaw the restructuring of the company's infrastructure and culture.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Mr. Haggis serves on a number of community organizations and is currently a member of the Public Sector Pension Investment Board.
