Edward S. Goldenberg
Stikeman Elliott LLP is pleased to announce that Edward S. Goldenberg will join the firm as a Partner on January 12, 2004 and will work out of the Ottawa office.
Mr. Goldenberg is currently Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Canada and has also served as the Senior Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister for the last ten years. He has been closely involved at the highest levels in almost every major public policy file of the federal government over the last decade, and has broad experience in handling complex issues including trade files both nationally and internationally. He has also served earlier in his career in every major economic department of the government of Canada.
In his legal career, Mr. Goldenberg has been Special Constitutional Advisor to the Minister of Justice and is one of the authors of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He has also practiced with another Canadian law firm.
Mr. Goldenberg was admitted to the Québec Bar in 1975 after having graduated in law at McGill University. He also holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in economics and political science from McGill University. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1985.
