Paul Lucas, President and CEO of GlaxoSmithKline Inc. in Canada, is pleased to announce the following appointments:
President and CEO, Australia
Area Director, Australasia
Vice President, Sales
Vice President, Marketing
Mr. Paul Lirette, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, GSK Canada, has been promoted to the position of President and CEO, Australia, and Area Director, Australasia, and will be a member of GSK’s International Management Team.
His promotion to lead the GSK organization in an important international market is in recognition of his contributions to strong company growth and the launch of a number of industry-leading disease management and continuing health education programs in Canada.
Mr. Lirette’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Quebec in Montreal, and an MBA from the University of Sherbrooke.
With Mr. Lirette’s appointment to Australia, Mr. Michael Cels and Mr. Ed Dybka have both been promoted to the positions of Vice President, Sales and Vice President, Marketing, respectively, in the Canadian organization.
Mr. Michael Cels will spearhead sales activity at GSK and oversee one of Canada’s leading pharmaceutical sales forces.
He has over16 years of sales andmarketing experience in the pharmaceutical and technology industries.Through a number of senior roles at GSK in the areas of diabetes and mental health, his contributions have resulted in significant achievements for the company.
Mr. Cels has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba.
Mr. Ed Dybka will lead the marketing team managing GSK’s extensive and diverse portfolio of medications in therapy areas that include respiratory, diabetes, infectious diseases and vaccines.
He began his career at GSK more than 16 years ago and assumed positions of increasing responsibility in all critical areas of the commercial business, including successfully leading the Ontario sales teams for diabetes and mental health.
Mr. Dybka has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto.
