The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Allan Lefever, as President of the HSFC for the two-year term ending in 2001. Mr. Lefever, hales from Edmonton, and sits on the provincial Court of Alberta. Mr. Lefever has been a volunteer with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta (HSFA) since 1980 and a national volunteer since 1994. His wealth of experience with both the Foundation and within his profession will serve him well in his new capacity as national President.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation is a national voluntary non-profit organization whose mission is to further the study, prevention and reduction of disability and death from heart disease and stroke through research, education and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. In recent years, the Foundation has also taken a leadership role in advocating for heart healthy public policy.
