Philip G. Hughes
The Board of Directors of the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Philip G. Hughes as Chair of the Association.
Mr. Hughes is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Newfoundland Power, and past Vice-Chair of CEA.
Prior to his present position, Mr. Hughes held a number of senior management positions in the energy industry having worked with gas and electric companies throughout Canada.
Mr. Hughes currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Energy Council of Canada, Newfoundland Power, Maritime Electric, Fortis Trust, and the St. John's Board of Trade. He is actively involved in a number of national and international energy-related associations including the World Energy Council.
Founded in 1891, CEA is the national forum and voice of the evolving electricity industry in Canada. The Association's members produce 95 per cent of Canada's electricity, manage assets of more than $150 billion and employ 85,000 Canadians.
