About Reports Selector: The Reports Selector is the default reports page. It's accessible by clicking on the Reports link on the top navigation bar on any globeinvestor.com page. The Reports Selector provides a gateway into the price reports — Quote, Price Change ($) and Price Change (%) — which focus on the price performance of one or more secrities or indexes, and financial reports — Quarterly Results, Key Ratios, Annual Results — which concentrate on company financial ratios and results.
To view a report for one or more stocks or indexes, enter the symbol(s) followed by a hyphen and an exchange code. (Example: enter "BCE-T, TSE-I", where BCE-T refers to BCE Inc. as traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSE-I refers to the TSE 35 index.)
To find a symbol for a company or an index, click the Symbol Lookup link. When you find each symbol, return to the report screen and type or paste the symbol into the text box. Then select a report from the pulldown list and click "Go." The exchange codes are found below the text box.
Exchange Codes: If you don't specify an exchange code after entering a stock or index symbol, our database will match the symbol with its primary exchange — usually the TSE in Canada and/or the NYSE or Nasdaq in the United States. For example, if you enter BCE into the text box and click "Go," the system will return a quote or a report for both BCE-T (as traded on the TSE) and BCE-N (as traded on the NYSE). Therefore, to view a quote or report for a particular symbol, enter the symbol followed by a hyphen and an exchange code. The exchange codes are as follows: T-Toronto, M-Montreal, X-Canadian Venture, D-CDN, N-New York, A-American, Q-Nasdaq NM, QS-Nasdaq SC, Q2-OTCBB, I-Index.
Multiple Symbols: To view a report containing up to 30 stocks and/or indexes, simply enter more than one symbol, separated with a space or a comma, select a Report Type from the pulldown menu and click "Go." Example: BCE-N, TSE-I, ABX-T. The Financial Reports (Quarterly Results, Key Ratios and Annual Results reports) show a single entry for each company you specify. Therefore, entering BCE-N and BCE-T in the Enter Symbol(s) text box on a Key Ratios report will return one entry: BCE. Entering the same symbols on a Price Report — say, the Price Change ($) report — will return two entries, one for each symbol.
Choose Option B on the Reports Selector if you have used the Stocklist tool to create and a list of stocks you own or wish to track. To view your Stocklist report, select a report from the pulldown menu and click "Go." For more information on creating a personal Stocklist, click here.
Price Reports focus on the price performance of one or more securities or indexes. The default price report is the Detailed Quote report. During trading hours (weekdays, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.), price quotes are delayed 15 minutes. Calculations do not include the payment of dividends. Each report links to price charts, news and additional information on each company or index displayed on the report. Here is a brief summary of the features of each price report:
Quote report: The Quote report is the default price-based report. It shows intraday and end-of-day prices for stocks and market indexes. The report shows trading volume for the day, the latest net and percentage price changes, daily price highs and lows and each security's 52-week high and low.
Price Change ($): Focuses on net price changes for the past week, month, year to date and 12 months. The report also shows the latest available intraday or end-of-day price, the previous close and the net price change for each stock or index.
Price Change (%): Focuses on the percentage change for the stock or index for the past week, month, year to date, 12 months, three years and five years. The report also shows the latest available intraday or end-of-day price, the previous close and the percentage price change for each stock or index.
Financial Reports concentrate on company financial ratios and results. The default financial report is the Quarterly Results report. When viewing a financial report, you have three currency options: You can view the data in the currency in which the company originally reported its financial statements (As Reported); view the data in Canadian dollars; or view the data in U.S. dollars. Each report links to price charts, news and additional information on each company or index displayed on the report. Here is a brief summary of the features of each price report:
Annual Results: Focuses company assets, revenue, net income and earnings per share (EPS) over the most recent annual period. The report highlights three-year percentage growth in revenue, net income and EPS. The report can be viewed in either Canadian or U.S. dollars.
Key Ratios: Shows company price/book ratios, percentage returns on common equity and assets, debt/equity ratios, interest coverage and dividend payout for the fiscal period.
Quarterly Results: Quarterly Results is the default financial report. It focuses on company revenues, net income and earnings per share information for the most recent quarterly reporting period. If quarterly data aren't available, annual data will be used. The report also shows the latest price for the company's most actively traded stock, earnings per share and price/earnings figures. During trading hours (weekdays, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.), price quotes are delayed 15 minutes.html">Quote report |
